The Problem
Widespread illegal logging in protected lands causes an estimate worldwide loss of $15 billion/year. This number excludes the loss caused from forest fires. There are many current solutions for both issues, however, the results aren't satisfactory due to two major factors: corruption or slow reaction from officials and government institutions from the forestry and nature protection.

The Solution
Immediate social involvement supported by modern IoT alert system - an improved network of sound and smoke sensors with 24/7 real-time detection of illegal logging and forest fire. Signals are sent to a mobile app aimed to serve professionals from NGO's focused in nature conservancy and protection. Along with alerting the necessary responsible organs they can involve simultaneously the society to put an immediate pressure to all responsible officials and institutions assuring improved reaction and transparent work quality.

The Product
Network IoT system of sound and smoke sensors with live detection of chainsaw sound and fire smoke. It transmits the data to the main system that serves the mobile app at the end. The app facilitates the work of professionals in the nature protection field, which can manage the alerts and create early on-spot warning to both, officials and the public. Alerting the general society in the same moment as the officials creates an immediate social engagement to cause the additional momentary pressure to all responsible institutions. Involving the public with live alerts is the main goal to fight corruption and slow reaction from officials.

The app will also allow for storing historical data and present statistics to keep track of the progress of current and past alerts. It will allow for improved monitoring of the sensor network technical performance and live communication between the maintenance teams and the alert management.
